the pinegars for kinfolk03/24/14
I took a photo of one of my favorite families to accompany Nikaela’s poignant words for the latest issue of Kinfolk. Above are a few outtakes, but check out this home-focused issue in print — it’s a good one. (The online version can be found here.)
the rowson family10/15/13
Courtney Rowson is one of the partners behind the amazing Stitch Design Co. and her little family of four could not be sweeter. I loved spending an afternoon at their house — running laps around the kitchen with Bea and Ben, chasing bubbles, catching balloons, jumping on beds, reading on the porch and witnessing the excitement of dad returning home from a trip abroad (with souvenirs!).
the abney family09/05/13
I spent an evening out at Sullivan’s Island with the Abney family right before the sun went down last weekend. Like last time, Sam and Celia ran (fast!) almost constantly, and when they weren’t running they were floating in the tiny waves. I adore this family — I love that Allison and Merrit’s first date was their high school prom and I love that they belly-laugh with their kids.
The beach was full of people reading, sleeping, swimming and kite-surfing, reminding me that the summer doesn’t just end after August. I need to make a point to get out there more.
lauren at 39 weeks08/22/13
Lauren is due any day now. It’s been amazing to watch her grow and change and prepare to welcome this new life into her life.
I am so excited to meet this little guy — who will undoubtedly have a big personality and a beautiful head of hair.
