A gorgeous day at the Legare Wedding House — filled with so many happy tears, a hilarious bride and groom, constant dancing, group hugs, and the sweetest ceremony officiated by the bride’s sister (who was so touched by the vows that she could not get through the sentence, “I now pronounce you husband and wife” without breaking into simultaneous crying and giggling).

One of my oldest friends got married a few weeks ago in Nashville. It was laid-back and cozy, with the tent set up right in her backyard. Getting ready in her childhood bedroom felt so surreal — the site of so many sleepovers, Sex and the City marathons, boy drama, cookie dough out of the container, white wine with ice cubes, and on and on. Ah, memories.

Victoria is so funny — she’s not your typical bride. When Zack called out from his room that he needed help with his tie, Victoria immediately busted through the door to assist, wedding dress and all. He tried to shield his eyes, but Victoria wouldn’t have it. Her dad walked by and shook his head in semi-mock disapproval, just like he did millions of times way back when. Victoria wanted to see her man and so she did.

I don’t know Zack well, but I do know that Victoria was as happy as I have ever seen her. And that made me happy. I wish these two lovebirds all the best.

Mary Margaret and Marcus got married on a sunny day at the end of December. Both were cool as cucumbers and simply seemed excited to start their lives together. It was a gorgeous, flawless evening that we were very happy to be a part of.

Many thanks to my handsome second shooter, whose photos are scattered throughout.

One sticky afternoon last September, Blake and I drove out to Kiawah Island and photographed our first-ever wedding. We had been in contact with Matt and Jen for almost a year, who contacted me long before I was thinking of photographing weddings. From the beginning we clicked — although I can’t give myself much credit there, because Matt and Jen are the kind of people who would click with anyone. They’re thoughtful, sweet, and more laid-back than any other engaged couple in the universe.

For the time spent getting ready, I was with the girls and Blake was with the guys. Being with Jen on her way to see Matt was such an intimate thing to experience, and I loved witnessing her jitters disappear the moment she saw Matt. They were together eight years before getting married and their relationship is so clearly solid. They giggled a lot and put each other at ease.

Blake and I genuinely had the best time — he even broke it down on the dance floor with our favorite little ring bearer. I’m a sap and I know it, but watching people commit themselves to each other forever and ever will never cease to amaze me.

In addition to the drop-dead gorgeous floral crown and bouquet from Stems, Yumi Kim Rent the Runway dress, and stunning hair and makeup by Willow Salon , a million thank-yous to the lovely models Martin and Melissa, to Peter for letting us use his supercute moped, and to Blake for being my human tripod (and for being as excited about this as I am).

Part I here.
