I can’t get enough of flowers these days. I never cared much about them before, but gardening is in my blood and I think it’s starting to creep into my consciousness. Azaleas, camellias, quince, red-bud, dogwood — there’s such a familiarity to these names despite the fact that I just recently learned to decipher which is which. Jasmine has also started making its debut this year and the fragrance, just in passing, is so breathtaking it will stop you dead in your tracks.

Lovely!
I hear ya. Just bought a house that has basically no landscaping. Can’t wait to get in there and plant some flowers and vegetables and really make it mine :)
just what i needed to see on this gray winter morning. :)
francine, that’s so exciting! congrats! there’s nothing better (or more overwhelming, at points) than a blank slate. i know it’ll be so lovely though — and such a rewarding project. x
I just bought a house and spring time is so exciting to me. EVery bloom is a surprise. So far we have two Camellias that are raining blooms and one Azalea.

Oh, Spring! The very prettiest of seasons!
I spent this weekend as well wandering around my neighborhood in Portland taking photos of the first flowers popping up. It makes me so excited for the warm, sunny weather to come!

I know how that feels to have gardening “in your blood”, and how it draws your attention to all the colorful beauties that come around this time of the year. I wish I lived further south. THis is just one of the things that makes me so want to visit Charleston!
