roadside peaches.06/28/12
The drive from Charleston to Gainsville requires lots of small roads which depending on your mood, can be a terribly frustrating or terribly exciting thing. On our way home we spotted this picturesque peach stand and quickly made a U-turn. Vidalias, tomatoes, and peaches for sale and you can bet Mr. Del will tell you how proud he is of his produce.
Little did we know, we were stumbling upon a movie star. Del was an extra in Forest Gump, Radio, The Patriot, among others, and he showed us the papers to prove it. What was meant to be a five minute stop quickly turned into a twenty minute chat — and we were more than happy to listen to his animated stories. And true to his word, we’ve had peaches for breakfast every morning this week and they are the best of the best.

oh olivia, what wonderful photographs, aren’t impromptu chats the best, specially when they have a soulful legend feel to them. ah craving a good peach now.
moral of the story: always stop at roadside stands. so good.
these pictures are just lovely! What a great stop/find! And what a perfect model your boy is with his red hair and all—looks like it should be in a magazine!
cheers!

I love learning little things like this. You would never know about Del until you stopped and took the time to learn and enjoy those little moments. I think I’ll go buy some peaches from the market tonight.
