After driving through endless rows of cherry trees, lavender fields and vineyards, we caught our first glimpse of Gordes perched on top of a cliff in Provence. It was one of those moments where I had to make a point to take in my surroundings, because it felt completely surreal.

We spent the day eating creamy pastries, sipping coffee (on a patio on top of the cliff), wandering down stone pathways, and daydreaming about Van Gough painting the very scenes we were looking at. It's no wonder the impressionists came to Provence to paint, look at those clouds...
