The first farmers market of the season is a very exciting event around these parts.
We rode bikes, drank lemon-mint soda, lounged in the sun as bluegrass music played, and left with carrots, spring onions, asparagus, and golden beets. The Farmers Market elicits good things all around; more cooking at home, more porch dinner parties, and blue-cheese-and-spring-onion drop biscuits for breakfast on a Monday.
The only way I can think to describe the village of Sarlat is whimsical -- twinkling lights, castles in the distance, curvy cliff-top roads.
The Dordogne region has the most incredible variety of produce this time of year; figs, apples, pears, walnuts, and my new favorite; potimarrons. We couldn't have asked for a better setting for the workshop.
